Neo Bay is a small, quiet fishing community which has managed to keep away from the ongoing gang violence of Team Rocket. The locals live peacefully, getting on with their lives and never making a fuss. Three young friends; yourself, a quiet and calculating young boy named Simon and the hot headed Bradley, are enjoying their childhood together.

One day a mysterious letter arrives at Simon's door. His father, who lives elsewhere in the region, wants to see him immediately. Later this very same day, strange men in black clothes arrive at the island and whisk Simon away, before he can even say his goodbyes. Fully expecting him to return soon, you and Bradley continue with life. After several months of not seeing Simon, you become extremely worried...

After two painstaking years of attempting to find your friend, you and Bradley have given up hope. As you lie in bed in your small home, your mother shouts on you to come and see the television. A news report is giving details of a rich businessman called "Giovanni". He is publicly announcing that he was, in fact, the head of "Team Rocket". Team Rocket is a violent and unpredictable gang, famous for their inappropriate behavior and intimidating black uniforms. Giovanni was the leader before leaving to better himself and his battling abilities. Startled, you remember the reason Simon had left. His father, whom you know was also a successful businessman, had sent men in black to take him away...

With new hope of finding your friend, you set out. Realizing that, in this day and age with so much violence on Team Rocket's part, it would be foolish to go without your own Pokemon. Luckily, Pokemon expert Professor Willow recently moved to Neo Bay and keeps large numbers of Pokemon in his lab. The famed lab is situated on a large ship just out to sea. After asking the great man to lend you a Pokemon of your own, he half-heartedly accepts. However, you can notice his growing worries over your competence as a trainer. He lets you choose from one of three eggs, each containing a newly discovered Pokemon.

With that, your adventure to find your friend begins. It will be a long journey and you will make many friends, and a great deal more enemies. Ultimately though, the decision is yours. Do you let the darkness of Team Rocket engulf the world, or do you stop their evil plans? Whichever you choose, your life will change forever... as well as Simon's.

I know that at some point in the game, you will be able to choose between Team Rocket and their antithesis, the Orion Defenders. The Defenders are dedicated to doing good deeds. I wanted to mention this so that the last paragraph makes a little more sense. Also, Explodus sucks at grammar.
